Japan’s Nippon Life has agreed to purchase Decision Life, the UK insurance coverage group based by entrepreneur Sir Clive Cowdery, in a $10.6bn deal.
Bermuda-based Decision Life, established by Cowdery in 2003, specialises in shopping for up books of life insurance coverage enterprise from different insurers.
Nippon Life already owns a stake in Decision Life and can pay $8.2bn for the remaining shares, valuing the group at $10.6bn.
US personal fairness group Blackstone, which can be a shareholder in Decision, will keep on as funding supervisor for among the firm’s belongings, Nippon Life and Decision Life stated in a press release on Wednesday.
Cowdery will stay in command of Decision Life after the deal.
He stated: “Combining Decision Life’s strengths, the funding administration experience of our companions at Blackstone and a well-funded mum or dad provides us the chance to speed up our development.”
